Brown ale with pale beige, creamy head and deep, warm chestnut brown colour. Dried fruits and caramel malts, bit metallic, finishing very lightly toasted. Nice session beer, as an old-fashioned English brown ale should be.

Cask @ JDW The Rawson Spring, Hillsborough [200314] [From memory as notes lost] Caramel brown, white head. Aroma of soft caramel and sweet toffee. Taste same as aroma, some nice soft sweet toffee in here and a bit nutty as I recall. Palate was thin to medium, was a bit creamy. Finish of smooth soft toffee. Was OK and finished the half.

Small beige head. Clear brown body. Roasty earthy caramelly aroma with rye crisp bread notes. Dry-sweet roasty earthy sugary taste with spicy grainy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry grainy chocolate and straw aftertaste with earthy spicy notes. Really nice and highly drinkable. (0.5l bottle from Beermoth, Manchester.)

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours hazy, light brown with a small, light tan head. Aroma holds semi-dark malts, modest toffee and some grassy hops. Flavor is lightly sweet, some more darkish malts, somewhat tangy bitterness, mild caramel. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finish has some herbal hops, light sugar, light toast. Very just OK.
