Forget the notion this is a beer style that has had its day.
Instead, think of it as honeycomb covered in chocolate, because that’s exactly what it tastes like: rich, unctuous and an absolutely decadent treat of a beer.

330 ml can, from leske.no . ABV is 0.5%, IBU 35. Black colour, small tan head. Aroma of moderately roasted malts, oatmeal and porridge, lactose and cocoa. Smooth flavour, with cocoa, oatmeal and lactose, but not too sweet. A slight fruitiness too. Very drinkable.

dark brown colour, medium sized beige head, which disappears quite quickly; aroma of intensive burnt woody-ash notes, burnt sunflower seeds and minimal heavy roasted coffee; taste is quite empty like a glass of water with burnt woody bitterness; not really good but acceptable as N.A. beer - though I would never consider it to be a milk stout - that should be a bad joke

330ml Can - Dark brown, almost black. Coffee, vanilla and chocolate in the aroma. Roasted and slightly sweet taste with coffee, cream, vanilla and cocoa. Enjoyable and very thick for such a beer.

From can on board Fridtjofen 20.11.20. Almost ebony. Brown head is quickly dissapearing to nothing. Fine aroma and taste of bitter coffee, dark chocolate, grapefruit and pine shoots. Roasted barley and bitter grapefruit is lingering on. Slightly waterish. Very good for being a non-alcoholic beer!

15/11/2020. Bottle sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours a very attractive dark brown with a nice creamy beige head. Aroma is roasted, nutty, chocolate, caramel, touch of honey, and a very slight mucky edge. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Good body to it, smooth texture, average carbonation. Sweet, mild, roasty finish. Very nicely done.

Bottle from Ludlow Food Centre. Appearance - very close to black and definitely opaque. Short lasting but attractive cream head. Nose - creamy dark chocolate. Taste - dark chocolate again, wafer and some lurking creaminess though the lack of alcohol doesn't give it much of a chance in that respect. Palate - light bodied, toasty rather than creamy middle. Lightly roasty finish. A touch thin as you would expect. Overall - not bad considering the style.

Black beer, good toasty malt aroma. Flavour is malty too,a decent on t.of chocolate. It's a touch watery as you'd expect for the strength but Big Drop are really good at these. Could very happily sit and drink a few of these.
