Forget the notion this is a beer style that has had its day.
Instead, think of it as honeycomb covered in chocolate, because that’s exactly what it tastes like: rich, unctuous and an absolutely decadent treat of a beer.

Pours black, small tanned head. Scent is full, rich creamy lactose-coffee. Mild ashy notes from the roasted malts, but perhaps a bit overshadowed due to the lactose. Taste is Sharp, bitter, ashy-roasty, chocolate, milder lactose. Not great - I've yet to find a true gem in the NA stout section - but it is at least better than most of the ones I had before. Perhaps a 'bit' to the thin side, and bit to much emphasis on the ashy notes to my taste.

Large foamy tan head stayed on a still black body. Malt, liquorice & iron aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & creamy with a clean back. Malt, liquorice, berry & cocoa tastes with a nicely hopped tangy finish. Good one.

Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Black, rich lively head. Somewhat metallic nose with some cocoa. Sweet with thin body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Almunium foil wrapped around cocoa powder dissolved in too much water. Metallic finish with some saccharine.

Can picked up at Væskebalancen - Valby and drunk at home - pours black with a beige head. Sweet and medium roasted malty with notes of chocolate, caramel, touch of coffee roast, singed brown sugar, sweet lactose lending some creamy enhancement to the body, impressive AF stout.

0.33 l bottle from 'OnderNulPuntVijf', best before November 2021. Black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee beans and some hazelnut. Quite sweet, malty, rather roasty taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee beans, licorice and hazelnut, followed by a short, gently roasty-bitter, quite earthy finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty Stout, no nasty flavours or anything NA-typical detectable.

Black with a beige head, this starts off looking like a heavy beer. Aroma is roasty upfront with cocoa, chocolate and lactose. Flavour is moderate sweet and above moderate bitter. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. Impressive! There’s something different about it where you can tell it’s a NA beer, but is far removed from the worty past of NA beers.
