Sea Fury is an exceptional example of the Special Bitter beer style, offering substance and depth of flavour without compromising balance and drinkability. An aroma of inviting roasted and dark berry notes gives way to sumptuous, fruity, malty flavour and a moreish hop finish.

Two cask pints @ The Corbet Arms, Shrewsbury, after a slippery muddy ride up Haughmond Hill with the TMBB crew. Pours clear amber, good off-white collar atop. Aroma of amber malts. Fairly smooth, light palate presenting a decent chestnutty amber, softly sweet with mild fruity hints. Not bad.

Bottle from my local grocery store ‘Loco’. Pours a clear deep chestnut colour with a large foamy off-white head. Aromas of dark fruits, berries, caramel and a bit bready. Taste is more dark fruit and berries, caramel, toasty brown bread, some peppery spice and a slight burnt roasty bitterness on the finish. Thin to medium body and slightly oily mouthfeel. Not bad.

Many thanks for this beer to dantomlinson. Pairing with mini wheat crunchies. Thx Daniel. Pairing and this test for health to Boris Johnson. Oby wiatry tego sztormu rozwialy korona wirusa. piwo ma fajna trwala i sredniej wielkosci piane. Barwa rudo miedziana, klarowna. Pachnie klasycznym mocnym bitterem. W smaku troche karmelu, troche podsuszonej i twardej moreli, zdecydowanie uwydatnia sie goryczkowa tradycyjna goryczka, wlasnie taka jak powinna byc w dobrym Bitterze.

500 ml bottle, from The British Corner Shop. ABV is 5.0%. Beautiful clear reddish brown colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Malty and nutty aroma, hints of toffee and caramel. The flavour is also malty and nutty, again with hints of toffee and caramel, but not very sweet. Moderate earthy hops in the finish. Nice beer.

Bottle from Asda. Deep brown in colour, with next to no head and a touch of carbonation. Malty beer, with some brown sugar, a touch of hedgerow fruit, leafy hops and moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask ale, half-pint at Mr Thomas's Chop House. Deep dark brown body. Filmy layer, fair lacing. Modest smell of brown malts, semi-sweet. Blended taste of toffee and red orange. Malt-fruity ending. Drinks quite well. Food friendly. (Manchester 06.05.2018).
