Old rating - 330ml bottle, part of the Thoughtful Forager series. From Ransoms in Jersey. Poured amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of raspberries, wheat & sweet malt. Medium body. Slightly sour raspberry finish. I really like raspberries, so enjoyable for myself.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers. Aroma of raspberry jam, raspberry yoghurt biscuits and wheat. Taste is full of raspberries that linger in the aftertaste. Quite watery and not a lot else to it.

Cask at Old Dolphin, Derby. Pours a golden amber with a small scummy white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly raspberries with a little added maltiness. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy, but with some underlying bitterness. Flavour has bananas, raspberries, some floral hops and a hint of currants. Finish is quite bitter. Decent – I usually find wheat ales disappointing, but this is one of the better ones.

17/9/2021. Bottle from Cottage Delight as Thoughtful Forager Raspberry Wheat Beer. Pours clear bubbly bright orange gold with a short lasting white head. Aroma of raspberry ripple ice cream, wheat, malt, sweet raspberry candy. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average carbonation. Bitter finish. Artificial. Didn’t enjoy this much.

Bottle from RHS Wisley, as Thoughtful Forager Raspberry Wheat Beer. Aroma is sweet raspberry with a tart edge. A dull amber. Thin frothy translucent white head pretty much disappears. Flavour is all raspberry - tart sourness with sugary sweetness on the periphery ( so the exact opposite to the aroma). Some cloves/herbs. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Oily even. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Nice enough - delivers the 'spberry without offering a lot of depth.

Cask handpump at The Joseph Else, Nottingham, Saturday 9th April 2016 with dad. Pours warm gold with a short lasting white to off white head. Raspberry notes on the nose, in the mouth this has a sweet fruity tang, I guess that the raspberries are just about discernible, it is absolutely fine however not a beer I would seek out again. We left both this and the Kelham Island Ace of Spades, though this was a little better. . A6 A4 T5 P3 Ov11 2.9
