In 2014, Damm set up a project with Prades town council, Friends of Prades Mountains Association and Prades Cooperative to study the feasibility of producing mediterranean hops. The climate and the type of terrain are very similar to the world's most important hop producing regions. August 2017 saw our first harvest. COMPLOT is our first MEDITERRANEAN IPA. A complex recipe, which, in addition to Nugget hops from Prades, uses 7 other hops. A very hoppy, bitter beer, with hints of fresh citrus and ripe fruit.

Auch ein IPA gibt es von der in Katalanien omnipräsenten Brauerei Damm. Dieses wurde in Kooperation mit einer Prades Mountains Association und einer Prades Cooperative gebraut, welche den Hopfen lieferte. Dieser ist eigentlich amerikanischer Nugget-Hopfen, der aber in ebendieser Region Prades neu gezüchtet wurde. Und der Einsatz hat sich wirklich gelohnt. Es ist unglaublich grasig-frisch und die intensiven hopfigen Aromen können es leicht mit amerkanischen Pendants aufnehmen. Auch wenn das Bier von einem Braugiganten kommt (zumindest nicht AB Inbev), gefällt es mir wirklich gut.

Ambar anaranjada de no mucha espuma. Aroma lupulado resinoso. En boca es muy agradable, de base dulce de miel y caramelo, y predominio lupulado de notas florales y ligeramente cítricos. Final de amargor moderado y ligeramente alcohólico.

33cl bottle. Pours somehow amber, medium transparency, with fine white foam. Aroma is hoppy and caramel. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is medium-high bitter. Final is fairly dry, but in general unidimensional.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. Cloudy orange coloured body, covering white head, spotty lacing. Restrained aromas of doughy fruits with a tropical twist. Well hopped taste profile including moments of citrus and apricot, joined by mild malty sweetness. A piney note to bittersweet end. Medium bodied. Satisfying. (Tromsø 19.02.2021).

Õlle on selline jook, et iga uus kord kui klaasi või pudeli suule tõstad, siis leiad midagi uut, sõltuvalt tuhandest-miljonist pisiasjast, mis hetke olukorda mõjutavad. Seega piirdun iga õlle juures selle tekstiga.

Bottle, danke Günther. Copper, low offwhite head. Traditional light cheesy cascade-like nose. Medium body, foamy fresh. Orangepeel, grassy-herbal, a bit salvie, a hint clay, orangepeel finish. Quite nice actually, perhaps a tad oxidized?

Bottle, bb end of the month. Slightly hazy golden amber with a fat coat of white head. 3+ Aroma of lemon, menthol, apricot, honeyed bread. Not the cleanest but the flavours come through OK: toasty and honeyed then citrus and some pine towards a fairly bitter finish. Probably a bit old but OK.

Bottle from a supermarket in Kaltern, drunk overlooking Kaltern. Deep orange color, mostly clear beer. Light citrusy heavy Cara nose. Flavor is cara roasted malt, IPA bitterness, spicy pine and some grapefruity citrus - but not so complex as 8 hops would imply. Not the smoothest bitterness. Decent but not as good of a damm beer as I was hoping. Nice twist that one of the 8 hops is grown in the Mediterranean region, but that's probably just a gimmick.

bottiglia 33 cl, schiuma bianca fine media persistenza, colore giallo oro limpido, al naso è intensa ananas caramello mango agrumi, in bocca pompelmo frutta tropicale uva resina, corpo rotondo, lieve astringente, carbonatazione moderata, dolce con amaro accentuato lungo nel finale. Mi è piaciuta, ben luppolata. Un’industriale ben fatta. Molto buona. c. Esselunga Olgiate Olona 28.06.20
