We here at Beartown are huge advocates of animal rights and supporters of bear welfare globally.

In 2008 we recognised Animals Asia as our charity partner after witnessing all the work they do first hand.

Their vision is simple and that’s to end cruelty and restore respect for all animals throughout Asia. Through sponsored products and charity drives we’re proud to improve the lives of the bears that have given us so much.

Quantock, our champion Animals Asia sponsored beer, with 10% of sales going to support the great work going on over in the continent.

We here in Beartown may not be perfect, but we sure are capable of perfection.

500ml bottle. Poured a clear chestnut brown colour with a lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is nutty malt, treacle toffee, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, malty, dry, light ashtray, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask @ Molly House, Manchester. This is a heavy dark malt ale, verging on roasted, with its strength evident in both texture and taste. It's a mild in name only!

Cask ale at Head of Steam in Leicester. Shared with jjsint and Finn. Off-white remaining head, blanketing the glass. A deep ruby tint to a dark body. Earthy malts on the nose, slightly roasted. Nuts, earth and a chocolate touch to the taste buds. Ends with lightly roasted dark malts. Rounded mouth feel. Decent mild version. (10.02.2019).

Handpull cask at Broood, Leicester. Ruby brown, translucent with a bit of off-white head. Smell of malt, coffee, milk chocolate and cola nut. Chalky bitter hops assault the tongue at their first chance! However you can still discern sweet/tarr stone fruit flavours to the long finish. A nice stronger mild.
