Beware the beast, scourge of the hills and devourer of sheep. Back then the family trod quietly as he laid his camouflaged head close to their feet. And now we are grown take heed! For he is old as the rocks and will wake from his slumber!

Bottle shared in London - thanks to David. Pours clear golden brown with a frothy, white head. Odd aroma, some ripe berries, toast, dough, faint toffee. Light sweet flavour with earthy bitterness, toasty bread, orange rind, some leaves. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with some earth, toffee, burnt honey. Meh, so so.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Very dark ruby colour lasting tan head. Some coffee and chocolate on aroma. It’s a bit like a hoppy stout. Some black ipa character. Roasty malt and hops. Nope not my thing. Fine though

330ml bottle at home. Pours clear dark copper brown with a thin off-white head. Aromas of solvents, faint orange, glue. Taste is a little better, more citrus, all strangely solventy for the strength. Hot finish.

Bottle from Trembling Madness. Appearance - deep amber to red. Nice fluffy head. Nose - red fruit plus nail varnish. Taste - red lace sweet but with some sort of glue thing on the edge. Palate - close to medium bodied with a big boozy/chemical edge and a Overall - this brewery is definitely better at cask bitters.
