Cask-conditioned at the Punchbowl (JDW), York September 2023. Near black in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Coffee, plain chocolate, some citrus, pine, toasty malts, leading to a drying finish. Good.

Handpull cask at the Swan, York. Dark dark brown and only slightly translucent with a large creamy beige head. The aroma is a bit odd for the style: I was expecting roasty malted notes which are present but muted and combined with a perfumed note, flowery almost. The initial sweet taste belies an intense bitterness which floats its way to the long finish. Body on the thin side with almost no carbonation. It's actually quite good.

(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 17 Nov 2018) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted, hoppy nose with citrus, coffee, grapefruit, chocolate and pine needles. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, grapefruit, pine needles, a touch of mint and a balanced citric bitterness. Medium body, dry. Tasty and well made stout with lots of American hops coming through. Nice one.

Keg @ Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Poured dark brown color with a dense thick off white head. Roasted malty nose, milk chocolate and citrusy hops. Slightly ashy with roastedness, coffee and chocolate. Finishes somewhat dry. Pleasant.

A4, N8, T8, P4, O16
Black, ruby edges, dense beige head, good lacing
Aroma - Nose of citrus zest over dark malts, very mellow roast, more like a BIPA
Taste of mellow roast, dark malts, nice smooth dark malts, citrus zest in there, oh this is good, yum yum
Palate - Medium body, smooth malts, fairly bitter mainly from citrus hops. Finish as main flavour, smooth.
Overall - More a stouty Black IPA to me. Super stuff
