Our emblematic gnome rambles across the mountains in all seasons, summer and winter alike. With his stick and his mammoth waistcoat, he regularly climbs the 6666 meters up Mt CHOUFFE, to breathe in the fresh air of the perpetually snow-covered peaks.
Once he reaches the summit, he likes to pour himself a Chouffe and admire the view.
"Grouff, grouff ?" an inquisitive, shaggy-haired yeti, recognising the sound of beer being poured, approached timidly. "Chouffe ! ... not Grouff !" Marcel told him. The white landscape inspired Marcel to call his new beer, which is so refreshing, smooth and spicy: Chouffe Blanche!

Bottle at Le Cerf Vert, Dinant. Aroma is quite intense with lemon. Light gold with little sediment. Taste is somewhat classic wit with some heavy lemon notes and a bit of booze. Very fresh drinking.

Short-lived white head over lemonjuice-coloured beer. A bit of lemon, wheat, whiff of coriander. Wheat; thanks to little coriander almost Weizen-like, dry finish. Wheat obvious, but little acidity, even more bitterness. Light, wheatslickness, good carbonation. For a witbier, stronger and better than usual. Thanks to Merel for getting this!

06/VI/21 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ BBQ at my sister’s place, BB: VIII/2021, L13006 18:41 (2021-458)
Pretty cloudy pale yellow to beige beer, big irregular fluffy white head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet, banana, yeasty, sweet malts, bit herbal. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bit sweet, very yeasty, some banana, lots of coriander, gentle bitterness. Aftertaste: spicy, coriander, ripe banana, sweet, nothing of that typical wheat acidity that you would suspect in a witbier… Bah, poor excuse for a witbier. I was expecting better from Duvel / Achouffe.
