Fermented initially with Arset Kveik (a Norwegian farmhouse ale culture) in our stainless steel fermenters for one month and then aged for seven months in french oak wine barrels with a mixed culture of saccharomyces and a couple of our favourite strains of brettanomyces. The brettanomyces in this beer adds a ton of depth on the palate and gifts the beer with a moderately dry finish despite its strength and extreme depth of roast and caramel flavours. We followed this up with four more months of conditioning time in bottles.

500 ml bottle. Aptly named as gusher on opening list half the bottle. Someone doesn’t know what they are doing - minus points... After that pours black with moderate dark tan head. Aromas of oily chocolate, dark berries and slick roasted malts. Flavors of dark chocolate, soy sauce umami, licorice, and oily roasted malts. Bitter alcoholic finish.

Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver
Black colour with small brown head. Aroma of spicy yeast, cocoa nibs, some cardboard, burnt wood, very light aged cheese rind. Dark chocolate, with low sweetness, but enough body structure, and a moderate yeast character, more fruity than spicy; some salted liquorice in the finish.
Fairly well made, although I don't appreciate the concept.

500ml at Ash's shared with Alex and Phill. Appearance: almost black with a dark beige head. Aroma: well, the name is deserved - smells like a sour roasty ink. Taste: along the same lines, very roasty. Overall: meh.

Pours with a very nice deep beige solid foam and nearly black brown body; excellent piney hops with coffee and roasted barley on the nose. Flavour is chewy roasted barley with coffee hints accented by strong oily hops. Great mouthfeel, at parts both oily and dry. It's a big oily imperial stout that is working right and hitting all the right targets.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a medium brown head. Aroma is full of brett, red wine, oak, and moderate roast. Flavour is extremely woody, with lots of red wine, brett, and moderate roast. Super woody and red wine-dominated. Excellent.

Dark brown. Thin head. Aroma is chocolatey, vinous, and barelly. On the palate, lots of barrel, lots of chocolate, the vinous and tart nature is in the background, allowing enough sugar to roll through - that's good balance. I really like the balance on this.
