Based on a legend of the Bokkereyers, the Bokkereyer is an artisan tasting beer with an amber color palette. Terrifying and spectacular, with an affably bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from the brewery. Many thanks! Red/amber colour, creamy foam. Nose of caramel, cardboard, bread and cereals. Toasty, medium bitter. Good, but nothing special.

Bottled. Copper colour with a mediumsized beige foamy head. Aroma is banana, some mild spices, toffee and a bit nutty notes. Flavour is wooden, some slight earthy notes along with herbs and mild sweet malts to it. For a Belgian beer this one has quite much bitterness in the finish.

Clear deep amber colour, average foamy off-white head, good retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, brown sugar, dark dried fruits, nutty notes. Taste is medium sweet and bitter, malty, bready. Medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste is light bittersweet, herbal notes, pleasant amber ale.

18/09/2015 @home - 25cl bottle from shop @ entrance of Achelse Kluis. Copper colour, with small dissipating head. Hops, caramel, some spices, bit sugar. Not great but somehow interesting.

Intended as a top-fermented dark Bock, this is something of a curiosity among Belgian beers. Medium, off-white head over an orangey copper beer; malty character, caramel, a bit nutty, spicy notes, raisins, orange peel. Malt sweet taste, smooth, rather thin body (even a little bit watery), spicy yeastiness, fruity with herbal hop bitterish finish. Quite interesting old school regional beer, actually.

I don’t really know what this should be, but it wasn’t very good. Bit like a flat helles bock. Boring and watery.

Bottle at home, done from memory, rating is just for my own. I will edit if I drink it again, first bottle had cardboard in the aroma, the second bottle a few days later had nothing special to offer, overall not a great beer.

29/VI/2012 - 25cl bottle @ Bier Central (Antwerpen) - BB: XII/11 (2012-671)

Clear amber beer, small creamy off-white head, stable, pretty adhesive. Aroma: bready, yeast, nutty, caramel, little grassy. MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: metallic bitterness, (hey, what do you know, apparently it's from the same brewery as the Plezir beer which I just had before this one, and also had that metallic bitterness), caramel, citrus peel, sweet bready like. Aftertaste: bitter and metallic. Very unpleasant beer. Bluh!
