IPA is the King of Craft beer and this IPA is Heart of Darkness flagship. A mixture of the great Columbus and Cascade IPA hops provide piney, citrus flavours with hints of bergamot and grapefruit. A big, hoppy beer which is not for the faint of heart. Recommended for experienced Craft beer drinkers and those that can appreciate big, bold, bitter flavours.

Bottle split at Cotteridge Convention IV, many thanks, 23/06/18. Very lightly hazed golden amber with a decent off white cap. Nose is orange pith, light breads, pine dusting, peach, citric tinged straw. Taste comprises sweet malts, floral presence, melon, tangy citric shreds, bread dough, tangerine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hop bitterness. Ok IPA.

Keg at Druggists, Singapore. Clear amber, mid sized head. Caramelly nose with grapefruit peels and pine needles. Sweet with medium-full body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity with resinous pine needles and caramel. Very bitter finish. Too sweet and caramelly. By far my least favourite from an otherwise very good brewery.

A golden ipa with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with pungent piney hops, light mineral notes, light grapefruit, pleasant and classic. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and bitter. On tap at brewery .

On tap at Heart of Darkness, pours a hazy copper golden with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out lots of caramel bready malt, some resinous hops and toffee. Flavour is over-malted, with plenty of caramel bready malt, subdued resinous hops and medium sweetness on the finish. Too malty and not enough hop flavour. It's alright, but these malty IPAs aren't my favourite.
