Dark brown coloured body with a two centimetre tall rich brown head that stays afloat for a while. Aroma of toasted malt, alcohol, a dose of smoked peat and a good deal of pitted fruits - quite strong and sweet smelling. Medium-bodied; Strong sweetness at first with a lot of pitted fruits, some grapes and prunes and ending with a touch of the toasted malt with some peat evident towards the end. Aftertaste shows the sweetness more than anything else, but a bit of the alcohol punch shows through towards the end, but the sweetness sort of overtakes the alcohol and the bittering malts. Overall, a good enough beer that is quite different than the pale lagers here (no surprise there), but showing a good level of sweetness without too much alcohol or bitterness. I sampled this 33 cL can purchased from Circle K here in Saigon, Vietnam on 07-August-2019 for VND16,000 sampled a few minutes later while walking on the streets here in Saigon, Vietnam on 07-August-2019 with my wife and three kids, taking a break from some of the pale lagers.

Can from a Ho Chi Minh City convenience store. Poured a clear dark brown with a fizzy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, mineral, earthy. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light, dry malt, smoky, charcoal, light caramel, dry hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Don't serve too cold.

A deep dark brown Schwartz bier with a thick frothy mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with dark fruits, molasses, light treacle, pleasant. In mouth, sweet fruity caramel malt with light dark fruits, plums, light mineral notes, pleasant for hot weather. Bottle at Fatfish, Danang.
