Aged for one year in 2nd use bourbon barrels (Heaven Hill ones used from Stag Pheasant in 2017). Assertive bitterness with some residual sweetness, crystal Rye adds complexity.

On tap at the brewery. Okay murky brown and just a bit of head on top. Big boozy cedar on the nose, some plum. Flavour is caramel and wood, more plum, plenty of sugar. A little bit cloying but pulls back a bit toward the end. Mouthfeel is reasonably full. Sippable but heavy, not a bad barley wine but not a great one.

Dark amber/light brown sort of colour. Thin head, but not bad for a barley wine. A bit murky. There's a rich barrel up front on the aroma, with dried figs, honey, apricots, pears, light caramel accents. Nice complex aroma. On the palate, it's big, veering towards sweet. There's a lot of fruitiness, rich barrel accents that lend both vanillins, and tannins. There's a fair bit of alcohol in the finish. The malt sugars are soothing, with just a slight toffee note. There's even some lingering hop bitterness. Complex and warming.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with light/moderate head. Aromas of orange peel, solvent, light oak, and toasted malts. Flavors follow same with more oak but also a good dose of green apple. Oops...

Draught at the brewery
Murky dull dark amber colour with no head. Strong body, but it doesn't have the malt richness of a Barley Wine; moderately sweet, some caramel, prunes, dark fruit, but most of all a lot of booze, whiskey, touch of liquorice.
Powerful drink, not very graceful.

650mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is loaded with bourbon barrels upfront, with caramel, dark dried fruits, and resinous hops. Flavour is less on the bourbon barrels, with loads of dark dried fruits, caramel, and some hoppy resins. Finishes with bourbon, resinous hops, and dark fruits. This is really nice.

22oz bottle from the brewery shared with Andrey. Pours a hazy copper with a beige head. Taste is bourbon, fruity, and some caramel notes. Similar taste, a bit dry with slight hoppy bitterness. Good stuff.
