Bottle at Patricks. A hazy, golden beer with a small white head. The aroma has a nice fruityness, some berries tossed in, and pale malts as a base. Nice, clean and straight forward although a bit ordinary. The flavor has a nice base with pale malts, and piney, citrusy hops giving a pleasant bitterness. Medium body, dry on the palate. A pleasant, well crafted and easy drinkable beer. 100213

330 ml bottle. Cloudy golden body with a small off-white head. Aroma is mild but nice with fruit, spices and yeast. Flavor is mild grainy, really refreshing fruity, a bit citric but mostly general fruity, yeast and a bit spicy. Moderate bitter finish. A nice, refreshing, quite mild thirst-quencher.

330 ml bottle, as Tamamura Honten Miyama Blonde (Harvest Brew - Fresh Hop), courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.0%. Pale straw coloured beer, hazy. Decent white head. Moderate but nice aroma of Belgian ale yeast and citrus, hints of mild spices. Fresh and zesty flavour with distinct spicy notes, hints of citrus. Peppery and hoppy bitter finish and aftertaste.

2007 Autumn. An Autumn Strong ale made with rice as well as barley. Says it is the “fresh hop,” version. A deep golden color with a tall, fine white head. Only slightly cloudy. Aroma of hops, fruit, malt, and yeast, earthy too. Rather original, somewhere between a golden English ale and a Belgian. Slightly spicy. Rich mouth feel. Fruity and slightly sweet with an earthy character too. Interesting. Alcohol is there… rather subtle texture and flavors. Slight bit of citrus, good hopping. The rice is evident. Quite sweet, but quite bitter too, and with a touch of sour the balance is great. Reminiscent of French or Belgian country ales. Earthy, sweetish, interesting. I like it a lot. It is supposed to be a saison that is fitted to Japanese tastes. Whatever that means...Fantastic, though.

Bottled. Hazy golden, small head. Aroma of vanilla and citrus. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Feels light and fresh, yet has a mild bready bitterness. Flowery and lightly spicy. Low bitterness. Very pleasant unassaulting beer.

Been meaning to pick this up for a while now. Pour is lightly hazy straw with plenty of noticeable carbonation. Has a real small head. Aroma is sour fruit, orange, a bit of sweet malts, yeast, and lime. Interesting. Body is full of carbonation and a touch watery. Interesting beer. Acidic touch on the tougue comes from noticeable lime. Also tastes of spice, sour fruit, sweet malts, and some yeast. I don’t know if I’m even allowed to form on opinion since I don’t know what constitutes a Japanese Saison. But it is an interesting beer...pretty fun to drink.

A Japanese Saison?? What is that. Oh, I guess cause it is made mainly from rice around the brewery. The result?? On draft at the Japanese Craft Beer Festival in Sept 06. Hands down people’s choice. Subtle enough to please the newbies, but somehow complex enough for the style to please the hardcore. Clear golden color, funky farmhouse character in the nose. Great depth and balance, with some hoppiness, but bready malts and hints of lemon balance things out. malty finish. A lots of hard to describe complexity going on here, but great stuff. The brewery keeps putting out more and more suprising stuff. I love it.
