Seasonal 6er. Brown pour, small beige head. Aroma is bready, sweet, with faint brown sugar notes. Loght roast, with some subtle nuts. Thin, and not as robust as i expected. Sweet finish, bready, roasty malts.

A bit of head and okay ruby colour, no carbonation. Some nuttiness on the nose, malts, boring amber-style kinda aroma. Flavour is weak nuts and malts and caramel and cardboard. Textbook, really, uninteresting in every way.

Part of their Seasonal Sampler 6-pack for winter 2015-16. Pours a hazy amber colour with a warm beige cap, decent retention and some creamy lace. Caramel and fruity malt aromas. The taste shows more roasted malt character with grain, nutty notes and mild grassy hops in the finish creating a nice flavour overall. Some fruitiness blends thing well. A different Scotch Ale, but a decent brew overall.

Poured from the tap. Deep copper with beige head. Butterscotch, caramel, light molasses. Lighter body. Mild hop finish, flavour dissipates a little quickly. Sweetness slightly artificial tasting.

A dark reddish copper brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of butterscotch, treacle, very sweet. In mouth, sweet caramel malt with loads of butterscotch, treacle, grassy hops, OK. On tap at Ottawa location as Black Watch Scotch Ale.

Amber-brown colour. Cereal, toffee, light peat and light fruit on the nose. Slghtly chewy, peaty and chocolatey palate with toffee and brown sugar accents. It’s a little bit watery in the finish, but also a little bit dry, which makes it more drinable but is slightly incongruous with the malty richness.
