This ninja-like lager has a light body and low bitterness, which allows the fruity, yet subtly spicy ginger flavour to be the star.

Aroma of cheap, corny sweet malts with some slightly hot, earthy ginger. Finish is dry, and lightly bitter. It’s what I expected, bad.

A beer at my brothers, thank you. When I poured this one I wasn’t sure the seal was perfect as I didn’t get the pressure pisst! or much head. I did see that a couple of you fellow raters didn’t have much head either... The pour delivered a caramel colored beer, with really no head. The nose had a good hit of ginger with the cereal malts in there too. The taste wasn’t bad actually, the ginger wasn’t overwhelming, and it worked well the with cereal malts. F’ed if I know what Grandville has to do with Ninjas, but this one snuck up on me and was better that I expected it would be.

Bottle from the brewery shop
Hazy golden color, with a dull hue, small head. Aroma of candied ginger, and very light biscuits; it’s positively fruity, whereas a common flaw would be to appear soapy (and this beer is not soapy). The base beer is a soft Ale, with light residual sweetness and decent bitterness; on top of it the ginger is a gentle twist, therefore appreciated.
I’m not in favor of these beers, nevertheless this one should do some good in the summer, with a chicken BBQ maybe.

6-pack from the LCBO. Pours a hazy amber colour with a small creamy warm cap that leave a little lacing after disappearing quickly enough. Beautiful nose of real ginger that is spicy, not sweet. Not much of a mouthfeel, kinda bland and wet with no attack. The ginger is milder in the taste, as listed. It does linger a bit in the aftertaste. Ingredients listed on label: beer, ginger. OK ?! Still, pretty nice overall as feels like real ginger, and not some extract.

Poured from 341mL bottle. Clear medium yellow with minimal white head. Predominant light fermented ginger aroma with some hint of slightly sour malt. Ginger hit on the tongue with a lager texture and finish.

The ginger flavour shines through in both the aroma and flavour. Highly drinkable, good layering between ginger and malt. As usual for this brewery though it’s somewhat lacking in the appearance and palate department. It fits well within their collection.
