Half-litre brown bottle from the LCBO. Second of their "Historic Beers of Canada". Pours a dark brown colour with red-amber highlights. The head is pretty small with not much retention of what is left and the same for lacing. Not much. On the other hand, smells great. Nice roasted malt with hints of cocoa, caramel, nuts and fruits. Medium-light bodied with very light carbonation. Lots of flavours from what the aromas were showing off. Soft wood dryness in the finish. The hop is well-blended in all of this. A pretty nice Canadian session brown ale.

A clear brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a sweet coffee laced malt, light chocolate, grassy notes. In mouth, a grassy nutty chocolate malt with an oily mouthfeel, chocolate bitterness, herbaceous, decent. Bottle from Fairlawn LCBO in Ottawa.
