Black with a small beige head. Aroma of big bourbon, lots of oak barrel, vanilla, chocolate, toffee and coffee, a little boozy. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Dark brown pour with a fine-grained tan head that gives way to a long-lasting lacing. Notes of honey, smooth bourbon, oak, toffee. Solid stuff - BBA Eclipses rarely disappoint.

2019 bottle. Black. Caramel, vanilla and a hint of bourbon in the aroma. Malty sweet, roasty, alcoholic flavor with caramel, chocolate, vanilla and sharp bourbon notes. Boozy. Smooth with some sharp edges.

2019 Bottle to tulip. Pours a very deep brown with mahogany highlights. Light brown head that is small and leaves a collar around the edges. Aroma is chocolate and massive bourbon. This shows the barrel maybe more than any of the Eclipse series I have had, yet it is nicely nuanced and complimentary. Bing cherry aroma as it warmed. Flavor is complexity of cherry, bourbon, slight chocolate and orange rind. Chocolate biscuit at the finish. Tastes like more alcohol than 12.2, but not too hot. Great beer.

Poured from a 2019 vintage, 500 ml bottle. Really glad they switched to smaller bottles. Aroma is malt forward with lots of chocolate, toffee and dark caramel notes. Light roast and a bit of leather. Moderate bourbon notes with a bit of alcohol spice. Faint dark fruit notes. Pours black with a medium large, thick, mocha head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and fairly long legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with lots of dark chocolate, light roast, caramel and toffee notes. Faint leather and tobacco notes. Medium light oak and bourbon notes with a bit of alcohol spice. Moderately strong bitterness. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer. Solid barrel character, more body than recent years, and a nice base malt profile.

Tap at Cap Tap. Pours quite dark brn/blk with a slight tan head. Aroma of bourbon and dark malt. Full bodied. Flavor is burnt dark malt and bourbon. Seems to have bits of dark fruit, some chocolate, a hint of wood (I think), and bourbon/heat. Not dry. Actually part way to sticky. Yet it expresses bitterness. Very good stuff.
