nearly perfect carbonation for my taste, not too much, not too little. its fairly drinkabke, if not super complex.

Bottle at a friend’s wedding. It pours mahogany brown, with a thin foamy beige head. The nose is sawdust, wood, varnish, hay and caramel. The taste is nut, wood, caramel, chocolate, cardboard and brown sugar, with a dry/light bitter finish. Low carbonation and surprisingly light body. Not bad, but refreshing when you are at a ceilidh!

Originally rated January 2006. Pours a nice deep golden-copper with a creamy off-white head. Retention is medium and lacing is pretty decent, sticking like seaweeds. Aromas are from malt, more on the roasted and fruity side then on the sweet side, and with slight notes of smoke. Lightly bodied. Taste starts on with some fruits, then some hoppy bitterness enters to then end on a nutty finish. Smoke is in the aftertaste. Quite a nice ride of flavours, and easy to drink.

Draught (Thistle, Paris) - Copper coloured. Malty and fruity aroma with dried fruit detected. Fruity taste with fruitcake, spicy malt and caramel.

Draught at a Scottish pub in Paris. Malty, caramel and burnt wood, cocoa. Smooth, as if nitro, with earthy hops. Rather uninspiring, with not much aroma.

Copperbrown beer with medium and beige head. Aroma is toffeeish and malty, quite sweet, some berries, complex and overally pleasant. Flavour is dryer than aroma, some sweetness and roastiness with wooden dryness in the end. Quite light to drink but still nice. Appearance and aroma promises something special, but then this beer drowned to the gray mass.
