Velo (that’s French for bicycle – but you knew that!) is a 4.2% ABV ‘free wheeling’ fresh pale ale brewed with cascade hops and an ever so subtle hint of orange and coriander. Developed at our very own microbrewery before being promoted to our main plant due to unprecedented demand, Velo will ride on the back of Le Grand Party on 5th July – the biggest party our home in Masham has ever seen!

500ml bottle from God Knows Where - Didn’t know I had this lurking at the back, can’t remember buying it. Anyway, gold with thick white head. Malted milk biscuit aroma with a sweet orange and savoury coriander nose and taste. Fruity hop flavour, again with the orange, again with the herbs. Oreight I suppose.

500ml bottle: BBD 24 Jul 15. Poured into a UK pint sleeve at home during a ’random tasting afternoon’ with myself. Light amber colour, good white blanket on top. The nose leads with a citrus aroma, some coriander notes give the beer a more interesting smell. The taste is also a citrus led affair, again with some coriander hints within the makeup. Not really my thing, but it’s OK for a summer drink, not a winter warmer.

500ml bottle from local shop. Clear golden colour, white foam head and citrus peel aroma. Malt flavour with a floral, tangy fruity, spicey citrus hop bitterness. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry hoppy peppery bitter finish. Quite OK.
