20th May 2017: Cotteridge tasting #3. Cheers John for another new brewery tick. Slight haze to my dark brown pour, lightly tanned head. Aroma seemed at odds to the taste: fruity nose, chocolate and coffee flavours. Jackfruit can taste like ’Pulled-Pork’ according to some, so that might account for the meaty comments in a fw of the ratings (I didn’t notice any such flavours though).

Bottle at Cotts Convention 2017. It pours hazy darkest brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, jackfruit!, slightly meaty, aniseed, roast and chewy malt. The taste is bitter - sweet, fragrant, aniseed, jackfruit, liquorice, heavy sweetness, charred stuff and light spice. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Does what you might expect if you have tried jackfruit before. Perhaps a touch sweet, but alright.

Bottle at the Fat Cow, Bangkok. Poured a hazy dark brown, almost black with a frothy short-lived tan head. The aroma is red berry fruit, roasty malt, some creamy toffee. The flavour is moderate sweet, light liquorice bitter with a soft sweet fruit, light spicy alcohol liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
