Shared bottle, courtesy of mR_fr0g. Dark brown, slightly murky with an off-white head. Aroma of grainy malt, pine needle hops and a bit of marmite. Spicy initial flavour with some cooked vegetables with some slightly astringent hop bitterness and that light saltiness again... In fairness my palate may have been burnt by a long days tasting, so it may be re-rating.

330ml bottle, drink-in at Sourced Market St Pancras. Firm fawn-coloured head that stayed well. Spotty lacework. Opaque dark brown body. Perfumed aroma of dried fruits added by a touch of tartness. Sweet plums and mid-tart fruity flavours together with caramel malts leading to a bittersweet finish. Quite well balanced and bodied. Tasty saison (London 03.07.2013).

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Borough Wines, Wilton Way. Pours cloudy, orange-brown with a thick, tight beige cream head. The nose gives off quite a bit of dank hops, ripe orange, pine. Medium sweet flavor, lots of orange rind, some brown bread, alcohol punch, slight minerals, a little spicy yeast. Medium to full bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Finishes fairly warm with a lot of resinous pine, some grass, herbs, bitter earth, more orange rind, lemon zest, minerals and spicy yeast. The rindy citrus is a bit pronounced, and the beer sits a bit heavy on the palate overall. An interesting beverage, though.
