Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras. Dark brown beer with a lasting darkish beige head. Some saison yeast on aroma. Yes some funky yeast and then almost a dark mild on the malts and then hoppiness on the finish. A curious blend. A chocolate saison if you will. I think the hops on the end are a bit too bitter to go with the malts. It’s a melange of a saison, a dark mild/brown ale and a hoppy ipa. Hmmmm. Not sure it all fits together, but then I guess that’s why this is an experimental brew. Yes, bit of a mixed bag. I like the malts best I think.

Bottle from Borough Wines, Stoke Newington. Pours thin dark brown with minimal head. Orange, earthy spices, sea salt and a saison fragrance that’s not too imposing. Hops come to the fore the further in you go, underpining a sharp alcohol pinch. Great artwork as usual too.

Bottle from Sourced Market. It pours cloudy mahoganny brown with a thick beige head. The earth, toast, spice, wood, tangy red berry, dried fruit, orange peel and vinous notes. The taste is earthy, wood, decent bitterness, red berry, potpourri, perfume, spice, pithy citrus, ambergis, touch of alcohol and mild tartness with a dry, bitter finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Interesting flavour profile indeed. Not sure if balance is quite there, but its fun to drink.
