Slightly cloudy pale gold with a frothy white head and a citrus hop and light malt aroma. The mouthfeel is smooth, with a touch of graininess, and a funky kick to it to begin with and a mellow, dry and softly bitter finish

Gravity cask at the Townhouse 2017 Beer Festival, Ely. Dark gold, flat, complete absence of head. Aroma of kumquat peel, leather, gardenia, a touch of resin. Not getting what I think I’m supposed to be getting from this recipe. Sweet juicy taste with a sour/bitter wall of confusing but reasonably tasty hop coming in halfway through the sip. Aftertaste is quite bitter indeed with mango and tangerine notes. Maybe it’s a bit of an underrate as I enjoy it more with each sip (always a good sign in my book). However there are many issues and, at the end of the day, the weightiness of it is off-putting: a sub-6% beer shouldn’t feel this boozy.
