Troy Guard is a Denver chef with a Mexican restaurant so badass we can’t even put the name on this can. While enjoying his food we had a crazy idea: brew a Mexican-style lager with corn, natural lime juice and just a hint of salt. We recommend it with the Rattlesnake Chorizo Guac- Yep, that’s real. Salud amigos!

On tap at Mountains Brew Fest, pours out crisp clean golden topped with a white head. Nose is nice sweet malts some grain and grass. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts grain grass a little tartness.

12 oz. can. Pours a pale, hazy-ish, yellow color, with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is roasted corn, light lime, straw, juniper, and light acetyl. Sweet and malty, with a touch of tart. Funny tasting, but light and simple.

12 oz. can. Light lager smell right out of the can. Slightly hazy straw color under a thick but fizzy head. Close to the nose, it smells like any other Corona, but with no apparent adjuncts. Lime takes a few moments to come through, but there it is. Lime flavor makes up for the lightness of the malt, making this actually a rather nice beer.

Crisp, ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish, pure white head that shows on top and fades very quickly. Aroma of light grain, a dose of wheat and more of brine, salt, limes and not much else - but the smell is nice and very subdued. Light-bodied; Sharp lime and citrus flavours dominate with a lot of lighter biscuity malt and a dash of the brine that gives this more flavour and depth, but is still very easy drinking, with a pungent floral finish in a good way. Aftertaste shows the citrus, the brine and a touch of the grassy notes, but the lime really cuts through everything and even has a dash of sweetness on the end. Overall, this is a very nice lager that is super easy-to-drink, very flavourful and incredibly complex, especially for a lager and even more especially for a light beer that is meant to be mellow. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 23-June-2019 for US$1,99 sampled in my hotel room here in Richmond, Virginia on 25-October-2019.

12 ounce can from Woodman's Appleton, 7/8/19. Murky orange with large chunks. Thin head, fair retention. Not too far its best by date--4/2/19--to be so chunky. Oh well. Bought it an hour ago, for the record. Aroma of pale malt and lime. Taste is much the same but jucier, limier, and hints of salt. Medium bodied, juicy. Decent.

12 oz. can. Pours a hazy light yellow-gold color with a small white head and poor retention. No lacing. Sweet, grainy aroma. Sweet lemony grainy flavor with a short finish. A lot of diacetyl flavor in the finish too, or is that supposed to be the lime and salt?. Flat mouthfeel. Harmless, but it won't win any awards. Good for washing down pizza.
