500ml bottle: BB 2nd May 2022. Drank on 13th October 2021 Mommsen-Eck Charlottenburg - Haus der 100 Biere, bottle labelled as 'Scotch-Ale'. Copper bronze body, a tad hazy, on top a weak, wispy head. Whisky in the nose and taste, not overpowering but definitely a leading aroma and flavour, this is malty and sweet, but the whisky/peaty feel dominates above all.

Deep amber. Frothy white head that lingers. Caramel aroma. Taste is sweet the whole way through. A bit earthy but also sugary. Too sugary. Starting to be more reminiscent of a Malzbier than a true scotch ale. Medium bodied. Drinkable but a bad usage of ABV.

Barnsteen kleurig bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is zoet en warm met duidelijk whiskey en iets van karamel en toffee en een heel lichte rooksmaak. Gewoon een erg goed bier.

A lively beer with fresh bright flavors. However, it’s hazy, clouded, and tastes a bit muddy. Clean that up and it’s a tiptop beer. D&s dresden Earlier Rating: 3/10/2019 Total Score: 3.4 Very strong scotch flavours and aromas, they completely dominate the beer. Medium body, not quite wonderfully balanced. alcohol warmth also comes through quite a bit. Konsum dresden (3.5) Good beer upgraded to 3.9z

Bottle discovered at work, a little out of date. Pours amber with a thin off-white head. Aromas of smoke, honey, light dried herbs. Taste is more of the same. Sweet finish.

0.5 l bottle from local 'Trink & Spare' as 'Störtebeker Scotch-Ale', best before October 2020. A little hazy, amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly smoky aroma of caramel, honey and some peat. Quite sweet, malty, gently floral and slightly smoky taste of caramel, honey, some dried apricot and a touch of peat, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter and just a bit smoky finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant but a bit monotonous, the smoke is a bit too subtle for my liking.

500ml bottle. Clear, orangey amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Mellow malty, minimally smoky aroma, sugary hints of caramel, minimally strawy overtones. Taste is sweet, slightly sugary, caramel malty, slightly smoky; widely hidden alcohol. Rather monotonous, too sweet.
