This is our brewery’s Heart & Soul.

Created to have all the hoppy goodness of an IPA, but brewed to a sessionable strength. Its intense fruit-salad character comes from generous additions of US West Coast hops. A full bodied and fruity beer, with notes of passion fruit, grapefruit, gooseberry, pineapple & mango.

33cl can from Beer52.com. Slightly hazy straw in colour with a billowing white head; tropical fruit aroma; soft tropical taste, with pineapple, grapefruit and mango; and a lasting grapefruit finish. Good, but nothing to make this standout from the crowd.

Bottle. Curious Hop, Otley. Clear gold. Thin, dense, lasting, white head. Beautifully fresh, vibrant passion fruit, mango, and grapefruit aroma. Sweet, juicy malt background. Taste is crisp, clean bitter. Palate is also crisp and clean. A minor quibble is the slight over carbonation. Finishes light, lengthy bitter. Reminds me of the best of North Riding. Excellent.

Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Very light pale malts, mild sweetness. Hops bring smooth and slightly sweet pine and mild hop skunk. Resinous grapefruit and light tangy fruits, little tangerine. A vibrant and very well hopped cask affair, coulda woulda shoulda been stellar on Keg ....... 3.8

Bottle - very light pale malts, mildly sweet. Hops are a stunning combo of pine, pineapple and winey gooseberry . Touches of hop spice, generic tropical fruits and a whisper of mint. Wow! If I have had a better one of these so called Session IPAs I can’t recall it. As I suspected, cask did not do this beer any favours, so much better in a bottle.

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a small head. Certainly a session ale with nice light tropical fruit character.
