Cask at GRAF. Jet black with a thin off white head. Boozy fruit aroma, flavour is big fruit cake, soft, well rounded. Like this a lot

Bottle @ home. Many thanks! Dark brown colour, brown foam. Nose of roasted malts, coffee, red wine, wood, barrels. Not the best balanced but enjoyable.

Bottle from Waitrose in Canary Wharf. A surprisingly good imperial stout. It fizzed a bit on pouring and it made me nervous, but there was some lacing and the beer was most definitely not spoilt. Rich and alcoholic with vanilla and more than a hint of spirits from the barrel aging. A very good beer with exceptional drinkability.

330ml bottle from Waitrose. Pours black with a thin tan head. Good red wine aromas, wood and dark chocolate. Some coffee and vanilla maybe. Taste is a little thin, cherry, chocolate, coffee. Softens out as it warms up. More of the wood and wine coming through. Gently carbed. Nice.

Bottle from Waitrose, Cheltenham, consumed at Scott and Mandy’s, Dumbleton, Saturday 26th August 2017 Pours jet black with a beige head. Aroma is suggesting that this will be a little sweet but perhaps with a hint of a tart fruity edge and I guess that I am picking up chocolate, malts, red wine, molasses. In the mouth I could easily repeat all the above as they are all present. Add to those flavours some liquorice, oak and even the hops tying to get in on the act and you have a great beer. L42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Dan. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, little dark chocolate. Rich and tangy dark fruits. Mild alcohol spice. Light dry finish. Rich and tasty but the barrelling could be more obvious.
