Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen “Speling van het Lot” (Twist of Fate) is a series of small batch experimental brews, barrel maturations, fruit macerations and/or blends.
This 7th version features a range of fruit macerations on freshly emptied Bordeaux barrels from Château Pabus. These high quality French oak barrels were used for a unique integrated vinification technique, including grape peel maceration in the barrel itself. The name (“Zotte Kadeeën” - “Crazy Kids”) refers to the abundant creativity of our youthful, passionate team, that likes to explore within the traditional lambic boundaries. This plum lambic is the result of a short maceration of plums for one month. It was then blended with young lambic and a final fruit intensity of 340 grams of plums per liter of bottled plum lambic was obtained.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange with a large white head. Aroma has some faded apricots, gentle funk, and dusty hay. Flavour is fairly juicy, with lots of juicy apricots, light funk, hay, and a touch of barnyard notes. Fairly dry, get juicy, with dusty apricots. Very good.

Deep orange with fizzy white head. Plum, oak, light grape skin. Lemony tartness without the lemon flavor. A bit earthy in the finish along with lingering slow tang. Very nice.

A hazed pinkish amber ale with no head. In aroma, sweet fruity mix of tart berries, ground cherry, fruity esters, Epsom salts, light acidity, horse blanket, very nice. In mouth, a nice tart mix of ground cherry, light lactic notes, Epsom salts, very nice and smooth

Bottle at Baileys Taproom. Pours a golden hue with a medium white head. A big grainy toast and prune nose. Sour sawdust, funky, some light sharp plum. Soft body. Not my favorite of the tasting, but good.

And so it begins. Fruity, sour and rustic, not too acidic, dry and complex. Prunes, maybe a whiff of apricot. Nice.

750ml bottle @ Pien, Helsinki. Vinous, tart and sourish with some oak, plums, wood, grapes, soft finish and mild funky yeastiness. Pretty nice.

Puuviljane, magus, hapu, kollase ploomine, funk, päris happeline. Lõpus on ka tugev ploom ja õrn vesisus. Väga hea.
