For our hopping regime we went with Cascade and Nuggets in the boiling addition. Centennials were added every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes of the boil. We added Crystals into the whirlpool. Dry hopping was done in both the fermentor after primary fermentation and the bright tank. We used a mixture of Chinook, Nuggets, and Sterlings in the fermentors and whole leaf Centennials in the bright tank.

2008 bottle sampled 5/25/2008 Pours a slightly cloudy orange amber color with a sticky fluffy white head that won’t quit. Aroma is Hops! Grapefruit, Pine, Resinous hop goodness. There’s some malt in there somewhere, but try as I may, I can’t find it. Taste is a bitter resinous hoppy experience with a little bit of caramel malt hidden in the background. Mouthfeel is a little syrupy, carbonation is crisp. This is a hop lovers dream! This review is from the second bottle of this batch that I have sampled, Yeah I think I like it a little :)

0.355l bottle @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a orange semi hazy body with no head. Aromas of pine, grapefruit and hops. Full-bodied with decent carbonation. Extreme sweet fruity, strong and extreme pine + extreme bitter! Perhaps a bit over the top for my taste, and that does not happen to often. Warming alcohol with a dry and bitter fruity-finish. Think I need a new round with this one to decide what I think of it.

355 ml bottle @ Patricks. Hazy orange body with a thin white head. Pleasant aroma of citric fruit and biscuit malt. Flavor is sweet malty, citric fruity and less bitter than assumed from the aroma. Pleasant and balanced.

bottle from Bierkompass. Hazy amber colour, mid-sized off-white head. Citrusy-hoppy nose. Full-bodied, malty-sweet start, turining into an impressive tropical fruitiness, turning into loads of ananas which then turn gradually in very bitter aromatic hop flavours. Interesting flavour development on the palate. Lingering hoppy finish, again with tropical fruit.

Bottle - Hazy amber with a foamy head. Pine, spruce, grapefruit, peach and toffee in the aroma. Bitter and hoppy taste with tangy grapefruit, caramel and pine detected. The bitterness lingers in the finish, but isn’t overwhelming.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 8 Oct 2010) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, black-currant and pine needles. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus and pine needles. Generous bitterness in a slightly vinous finish with lots of piney, resinous hops. Almost full body, fairly sweet with a warming hint of alcohol. Very nice and tasty. Rerate; (Bottle, 21 Oct 2016) Pale amber colour with frothy, off.white head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of apricot marmalade, grapefruit, orange peel, lychee, honey and lots of citric, floral hops. Malty, hoppy taste with apricots, grapefruit, orange peel, honey, resin and a really bitter finish with lots of fresh citric, resiny hops. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Very fresh and tasty, with and impressive hop presence. Very nice. (Same figures)

Very solid DIPA. Good malt backbone - plenty of caramel flavor without getting too sweet. The hop flavor hits some fairly typical notes, but it’s very well done. Good pine, grapefruit, orange, grass. Very good full feel. Mouthfeel is smooth and thick without being sticky. It’s a bit indelicate with a bit more bland bitterness than ideal, but it still exceeded my expectations for a year-round, easy to find DIPA. Appearance is medium amber with a creamy, off-white head. Easy to drink with plenty of flavor.
