New Broumy are a beer that falls in to the category carrying the same name. This style represents everything we like – strong hop aroma, balanced flavors, and mainly high drinkability. The hop experience is provided by Azacca, Idaho and Citra hops, and also by adjustments made to the boil. With the combination of barley malt, wheat malt, and oat flakes (IT IS NOT A WHEAT BEER, THOUGH! :-)), we were able to achieve a very fine flavor. A small percentage of sour malt and orange peel just encourages you to take another sip.

Barva zlatava mirne zakalena, pena husta a trvanliva. Vune sladova, psenicna, trochu ovoce. Chut sladova psenicna, stredne horka, dlouhy dojezd, naznak citrusu, trocha medu. Spousta chuti ale hezky vyladene. Asi Neipou bych to nazval.

Bottle from Base Camp. Clear golden body, lasting, big white head. Full on aroma, orange peel, phenols, big citric aroma hops, light oats. Lean taste, oats and intensive citric hoppiness mingling nicely, a bit too oaty in the finish, but generally a pretty good hoppy wheat. Dry, clean, drinkable, just the finish prevents it from getting a bigger score.

(bottle 0,75l from JBM delivery) Overall: Good, citrusy hoppy, bitter, drinkable. New style fits my rating date :) otherwise american-style hoppy wit/wheat ale. Aroma: Hoppy, citrusy/lemony, light grassy, later light malty. Appearance: Light hazy, light yellow. Persistent white head. Taste: Strong citrusy hoppy, light wheat malty sweet, medium bitter, light zesty. Palate: Creamy texture. Bitter finish.

Tap at Zil verne. Rather thin body, med-high carbonation. Very subtle honeyish malty sweetness, on top of that pleasant moderate bitterness and the spotlight shines on shitloads of tropical fruits, citruses. Very juicy, tasty. Hints of spicy phenolis. Easy drinking too. I kid you not, this would fit really well in the DDHNE Kolsch category, everything is spot on.

On tap at Žil Verne Smells like a wheat ale, tastes like a wheat ale. But it's New Broumy. Oat malts may be softening a bit but wheat is way too dominant. Orange peel is there if you look for it. Quite good.
