Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen “Speling van het Lot” (Twist of Fate) is a series of small batch experimental brews, barrel maturations, fruit macerations and/or blends. On March 20th 2018, we filled two freshly emptied Vin Jaune barrels of Domaine Pignier with young 3 Fonteinen lambic. The lambic was brewed on March 16th 2017 and was 13 months old upon filling the two barrels. We let the lambic sit for another good year before we bottled seperately. As such, there are two batches of this unblended vin jaune lambic.Taste, savour and experience with the best of friends, old and new.

Smooth, not super flavorful
And the other batch of this, fun! Not very dissimilar, to be honest. Still tasty funky, plenty oak, some soft vinousness, and some dry cheesyness. Refreshing and flavourful, but nothing super exciting. Just damn tasty.

Bottle. Unclear deep golden color with tiny white head. Aroma is nutty vin jaune, wood, some peachy funk. Taste is nutty, a touch caramel, a bit sweetish, some lemon peel, cellar too, a bit bitter in the back, not as sour as Vin Jaune, also more accessible due to the still present mild sweetness. Oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Very nice pure Lambic!
