At a tasting, thanks, smallish bubbly head, clear and quite deep yellow color, candy malty straw aroma, sweet malt rubber and alcohol flavor. Yuck, really unpleasant.

Dark golden, dense white head, decently persistent. Aroma has light notes of cereal and lemon soaked in heavy alcohol. Taste has a vague sweetness, a lot of alcohol and a quite harsh chemical finish/aftertaste. Body is heavy with light carbonation, mouthfeel is dense and chewy. It’s bad, but still tolerable

Pours a clear, orange-golden color, topped with decent white foamy head. Malty aroma, a bit bready with alcohol notes. Taste is similar, sweet, malty, strong, alcohol. Not nice, really.

Popular strong lager, peach blonde coloured and on sale in 50 cl cans in many supermarkets also in the Low Countries; metallic, sweetish but fortunately not too cloying, one-dimensional with strong alcohol presence as usual in this style. I have to admit I had many examples that were much worse, though.

Bottle from a covenience store in Pisa. Clear golden body with a fluffy white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of sweetcorn, lemon and alcohol. Flavour of white sugar, sweetcorn juice, malt sweetness and a harsh alcohol burn. Finishes sour and metallic. Medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Never again...

Goldenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, getreidig, alkoholisch, so ist auch der Geschmack.

Draught in some random bar, Rome, December 2013. Needed a 9% ABV blast after drink sour craft beers all afternoon elsewhere in Rome: this did the trick. This is just a hangover in waiting really: however I’ll be fair with my scores and words. Looked good, clear, bright and clean: a true golden brew with a full if thin white head. Grainy nose and taste, the alcohol barely hidden within the weak flavour. This is the sort of beer that gives Scotland and Tennent’s a bad name.

Canned, 500 ml, London UK. Strong alcohol taste which ruined it for me. Malty and metallic. Had trouble drinking this one. Wouldn’t have it again.

Golden color with thick creamy head. It’s light bodied with strong alcohol taste. Solid strong beer.
