Substantially Complete reflects The Monolith both as a physical entity and the beer it produces. This is our quintessential beer--adventurous, yet balanced.

Substantially Complete is fermented using a house-blend of microorganisms in French oak barrels for one year. It was bottle-conditioned for seven months before release. It has a medium acidity and a bold peach and citrus fruit character. We hope you like it!

[2023 Vintage] Bottle pour at the brewery. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Nose is funky and spicy with old wood. Flavour has lots of funk, mild acidity, super musty upholstery; gentle spice. Excellent.

375 ml bottle. Pours gold with light head. Aromas of Brett farmyard, citrus, white grape must and soft wheaty malts. Flavors of Brett, white wine/ gewurztraminer/grapes, lemon rind and more soft wheaty malts. Tangy but subtle. Very nice.

375ml bottle. (2021 vintage). Pours a hazy gold-blonde with a small, fizzy, short lived, white head that fully dissipates. Funky, earthy aroma of brett, white wine, pale malt, peach, lemon rind, oak and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of pale malt, orange peel, peach, white wine, lemon, oak and floral hops in a dry, tart, acidic, brett finish. Light to medium body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Refreshing and delicious.

750ml on Brian's deck. Appearance: hazy straw with a white head. Aroma: nice farmhouse and fruity notes, with some barrel character. Taste: along the same lines, a bit harsh. Overall: not bad, but it's not elegant enough to call it a good beer.

750mL bottle, pours a fairly clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is loaded with complex rustic saison yeast, a little white pepper, and oak. Flavour is pretty much identical, with rustic saison yeast, white pepper, oak, and a little wild yeast. Really nice rustic saison yeast with just enough white pepper. Excellent.
