Medium golden amber. Smells a bit vegetably and sweet. Almost flat, no head; I get some woody notes and a bit of fortified wine, so the Marsala comes through. But it's a bit oxidized. A decent attempt at barrel aging but the flavor is a bit too diminished and lacking complexity for such a fat-sounding explanation.

Bottle, danke Fin! Dark golden, low head. Boozy melon aroma, some turpentine. Light body, low fizz. Sweet, light fruit, fruit tea, light booze.

Bottle. Unclear-ish orange-golden color with white head that is almost none-existant head. Aroma is honey, peach, sirupy. Taste is peach, honey, sirupy, cloying in the back. Not great.

Bottle picked up from the brewery webshop and consumed at home Wednesday 3rd March 2021 listening to Marc Riley on 6Music. Barely any carbonation in fact you might suggest it's as flat as a pancake. Loz gets the cider mousiness, we used to get on the nose from when we made a cider and we'd got it wrong in the process of, so lactic acid bacteria. I don't get this however her sense of smell is more acute than mine, I get super dry sherry and oak on the nose and in the mouth but absolutely no sweetness in the mouth as indicated. It's verging on a light sourness, however it's not vinegar, it's quite dry, is there a slight infection?. It's okay at best, I don't dislike this but I am a little frustrated that the brewery description is a million miles from reality, I suspect that this is their first foray into barrel ageing and they looked at what flavours they should of got but in reality this is what they actually picked up.* Update, only just noticed from reading comments elsewhere that this beer was brewed and barrel aged back in 2017, so perhaps the ageing process has also impacted on this a little by now.
