33cl can, BB 03/2021.
Fini sec

18/VI/20 - 33cl can from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: III/2021 (2020-533)
Clear blond to gold beer, solid irregular crackling off-white head, little stable. Aroma: lots of citrus, floral, some rose petals, passion fruits, guava, lime and lemon. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice acidic start, passion fruits, peach, lime, juicy, some pineapple refreshing! Aftertaste: lots of passion fruits, some onion, grapefruit, nice bitterness, some tangerines, clear acidity, very refreshing, lovely!

The fourth one in Totem's renewed range, brewed at their own premises in Evergem just north of Ghent. Can - with again a simplistically styled but meanwhile very recognizable striped plastic sleeving - bought at Etre Gourmet, shared with Craftmember. Snow white, mousy, open, loosely structured, dissolving head on a hazy peach blonde beer with ochre edges. Aroma of overripe gooseberries, green kiwi, raw rhubarb, lime flesh, chalk, sorrel leaves, green mango, pomelo, fresh orange. Soft sourish onset, lots of lime and pomelo impressions, but lactic in nature and mildly surrounding a sweeter core of lightly biscuity, bit doughy malts, drenched in citric hoppiness with a sultry 'tropicality' to it (fermenting mango, rambutan). This retronasal tropical and citric hoppiness lingers for a long time, while the bitterness remains soft and gentle, so as not to disturb the subtle play of sweet and sour. A chalky aspect trails behind. Very much 'to the point' if you want to market a 'sour IPA': a cleverly hopped, aromatic, easily drinkable but focused and colourful kettle sour. Very nice, even if this is perhaps not my preferred segment of beers.

1 February 2020. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, Kevin, Niels & Cynthia! Hazy golden, stable, foamy, white head. Aroma of gooseberry, mango, unripe plum, wheat, passion fruit. Taste has sour passion fruit & gooseberry with a sweetish, juicy undercurrent; slightly bready & wheaty backbone. Tart, subtly hoppy finish, mostly lactic acid, passion fruit & gooseberry lingering. Medium body, oily/fluffy texture, soft carbonation. Just the right amount of 'Sour', utterly balanced brew.
