50cl bottle from Morrisons, Bracknell. An amber pour with a loose cream head; aroma of stewed nettles; taste of over boiled malts with some caramel; then a herbal bitterness with a toffee aftertaste. Yorkshire in style, but overworked.

500ml bottle into an ’Old Speckled Hen’ badged vase shaped pint glass at home on 28th Oct 2016. Clear, clean deep golden pour, full white head on top. Hops all the way here, bitter, yes, but blended so they don’t pucker the lips and cheek. No citrus nonsense here, honest English hops with bitterness their main aim, not a grapefruit ester to be found: good! Proper throw back to before the ’new wave’ hops from New Zealand and where ever started to turn our national drink into a citrus flavoured drink.

Sampled @ GBBF Day 2. Clear copper color, virtually no head. Smell and taste some malts, sweetish caramel, a bit raisins maybe, lightly toffee. Average body and carbontion. Meh.

Tried in a bottle from a local supermarket. Basic amber colour with a thin white head. Caramel and malty aroma and taste, basic and a touch dull.

Tap at Salon piva. Clear deep golden colour. Quite classic bitter, thin bodied, moderate bitterness, grassy earthy hops character. Easy drinking. Good one.
