Cask at the brewery tap. Pours clear golden amber with a thin white head. Aromas of caramel and stewed apple. Taste is more of the same, buttery too. Chalky note on the finish. Sweet too.

Bottle. Golden, clear and not much of a head. There’s some malt but it’s has more grain in both its aroma and taste with a medium bitterness and a small sweetness.

Cask @ Champion of the Thames, Cambridge. Dark gold/amber, tries to muster up a little bit of head. Aroma is grassy and vinous. The taste is bready and malty: sweet at first with a dry finish. Bitterness in the back of the throat jars against the otherwise lovely end to the sip. It’s ok but not all that memorable.
