Bottle. Amber color. Just a slight malty aroma. Malty flavor with some hopbitterness and a hint of licorice. Tasty and clean. From tap at Gasthof zur Linde in Egloffstein, a dirty greasy spoon in this village and the only place where you can eat on monday nights (Brotzeit with homemade sausage, not bad actually). Malty aroma , caramel, barnyard. Low on carbon. Sweetish, caramelly flavor. Bottle. Clear amber-copper color with creamy white head. Aroma is nutty, caramel, grainy. Taste is nutty, popcorn, grainy, quaffable. Fatty oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Tasty!

Clear medium amber colour, tall frothy off-white head, mostly lasting, good lacing. Aroma toasted malts, caramel, bread, grass. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, toffee, touch of citrus. Sweetbitter aftertaste, malty and grassy, hint of citrus, medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Quite nice and fresh landbier.

Bottle. Clear deep golden color, white head with decent retention and solid lacing. Very peppery hay aroma. Taste is light lemon, papery peppery lager.

Thanks Natko! Full old gold body. Tiny white head. Dry grainy aroma, lacking sweetness. Dull dry malty taste, featureless, vague apple. Sweetish, mild, not offensive, the maltiness is kinda nice, it would’ve made a pretty good base for a nice little lager. Like this, it feels unfinished and it’s ultimately forgettable.

Sampled from 0.5 l bottle from ’REWE Budnik & Homberg, best before April 2016. Clear, golden amber with a thin, frothy, tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey and straw. Sweetish-malty taste of caramel, honey and straw, followed by a short, slightly bitter, grainy finish. Thin to medium body, smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay.

Bottle at an open-air café in Forschheim, March 2015* 3.0. Golden-orange color, clear, with a fine, low head. Worty nose, grains, some caramel, a bit of grass. Malty, bready flavor, some stone fruits. Rather lame. August 2018. accidentally bought this again. Still pretty lame. Ok malts, light esters, some light hops. Meh. Wonder if it was better in MJ’s day or if he was just spreading the love around... Today, this is easily surpassed by 100 better local kellerbiers.
