Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Toasted malt with bready notes, touch of caramel and honey. Moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium body. Sweetish and toasty, okay.

Dark gold and clear with a frothy, white head. Aroma of caramel and nut bread with faint metallic and grassy notes. Taste is very mildly sweet with lingering caramel. Medium bodied, mild carbonation. Lacks the peppery, grassy bitterness of a stronger hops profile that I like to see in a beer of this style. Drinkable though and not unpleasant.

Bottle. Clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, bread. Taste of malts, bread, nuts, caramel and metal with joust a hint of spiciness. Low bitterness. Medium to strong carbonation. It’s decent.

Bottle 50 cl. ours a clera amber with a neat, slightly off-white head. Sweet, malty nose with a hint of caramel. Medium body, a clean maltiness with notes of biscuit and toffee. Very subdued bitterness. 290725

Orange, caramel malt, and hay aroma. Dark golden yellow with moderate head. Moderately sweet apple, orange, barley malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Okay body.

Bottle from Rewe 24 hour petrol station Bamberg and drunk with Nelson. Clear dark amber light brown beer. Thin beige head. Some malt in the flavour. Light hops
Fairly drinkable some ok drinkability. Fine.

Pours a clear, fairly dark blonde. Medium sized, pillowy white head. Scent is malty, bready and full. Taste is fairly creamy, just a touch bitter, over a malty (white bread) base. Medium carbo. Very easy drinker - shines trough balance and freshness. just a tad sweet in the finish. Compared towards the Keller, this is just a tad more refreshing to me, but very similar in terms of which I prefer.

Gut... mit einem Kellerbier hat das mal gar nichts zu tun. Es handelt sich ganz einfach um ein Bernstein bzw. Amber Lager. Die Optik, wie bereits erwähnt, klar und bernsteinfarben mit mittelgrober Perlage. Die weiße, feinporige Schaumkrone hält dabei mäßig gut. Der Duft macht einen sehr urigen, bodenständigen, spelzig-getreidigen bis brotigen, gut würzigen Eindruck. Der Antrunk kommt kräftig aber fein rezent, leicht süßlich und getreidig bis brotig malzig. Am Gaumen dominiert ebenfalls ein breiter, getreidiger bis brotiger und leicht karamelliger Malzkörper, dem eine gute Würze und leichte, apfelartige Esternoten beiwohnen. Eine aromatische, kräuterartige, leicht herbe Hopfennote stemmt sich dem aus dem Hintergrund entgegen, spielt dabei aber keine große Rolle, sondern unterstützt das Geschehen lediglich ein wenig. Die feine Rezenz und die eher weiche, leicht seifig wirkende Haptik erzeugen ein Mundgefühl, welches man mit gemischten Gefühlen wahrnimmt - aber das ist die typisch fränkische Stilistik. Meinem Empfinden nach macht es diese Biere etwas schwerfälliger, sie wirken weniger frisch und sättigen relativ rasch, was eine gebremste Drinkability zur Folge hat. Dennoch hat man ein absolut sauberes und fehlerfreies Bier vor sich. Im Nachtrunk wirken die getreidigen, brotigen und karamelligen Malznoten gut und lange nach. Nach geraumer Zeit folgt eine leicht trockene Note. Ich muss ehrlich sein... auch wenn dieses Bier alles andere als schlecht ist, muss ich festhalten, dass ich davon keine drei trinken könnte, weil sie einfach zu schwerfällig wirken und auch wahnsinnig schnell sättigen. Mir persönlich fehlt die Frische, die Leichtigkeit oder vielleicht ein Hauch mehr Hopfenspiel darin.
