Batch 5. Beginning of 2017, we acquired a second set of 21 Oloroso and 7 PX barrels and aged young lambic on them for another year. We lost 4 barrels along the way and we blended 12 barrels for this blend and 12 barrels for batch 6 (blend 50). Average age of over 2,5 years upon release, no backblending. 100% 3 Fonteinen lambic.
3 Fonteinen Zenne y Frontera is een unieke creatie van Armand Debelder en maître-sommelier Andy De Brouwer. Dit natuurlijke millésime bier is een assemblage van jonge traditionele lambikken die verder gerust hebben op veertig jaar oude authentieke Oloroso en Pedro Ximénez sherryvaten. Zenne y Frontera is de perfecte symbiose van enkele koppige karakters, vele wilde ideeën, immens fijne aroma’s en twee mooie streken.
3 Fonteinen Zenne y Frontera is a unique creation of Armand Debelder and maître-sommelier Andy De Brouwer. This natural millésime beer is a blend of young traditional lambics that have aged on forty-year old authentic Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Zenne y Frontera is the perfect symbiosis of a few stubborn characters, a lot of wild ideas, a vast palette of aromas and two beautiful regions.

Backlog pga av försvunnen post efter bytet från Ratebeer. Flaska köpt av Himmerigets öl-van. Min första Z&F och en riktig wow-upplevelse. Det händer så mycket och så komplex med mycket mer fat-karaktär än den vanliga Oude Gueuze. Fantastiskt gott.

Hazy tan sort of colour, with no head. The aroma has a touch of leather but also...it's odd...is that a phenol? Or some sherry influence? It's got on the palate some sherry, some wheatiness. It's quite tart.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy bright amber orange with a small white head. Aroma has some pitted stone fruits, a touch of manure, some funk, some rotting fruits, and sherry. Flavour is full on sherry-forward, with plenty of acidity, gentle funk, and some subtle stone fruits. Very nice sherry and old leather on the finish. Very good.

750mL bottle. Pours murky gold with a white head. Barnyard funk and fermenting stonefruit on the nose. Flavour has sherry barrels, fermenting stonefruit, and musty barnyard funk. Very nice.

Bottle pour at Beer Merchants Tap. Pours hazy gold with thin white lacing clinging to the glass. Aroma is funky sour hit, biscuit grains, a little burnt plastic, a hint of tart orange, white grape. Taste is a really balanced subtle sour funk, white grape, oak. Lovely dry finish. Cracking stuff

Aroma of funk, horse blanket, some cheese, sherry, citrus, some red apple. Tastes similar, with slight honey.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes medium dry, a bit acidic, funky, citric, with sherry, some apple.
Delicious! So complex and characterful, with lots of rustic funk, lovely sherry and fruit notes. Just enough acidity, drinks really balanced and elegant. Score: 9 / 4 / 9 / 4 / 17
