Sensory Session #44: dark, brown color and a nice off-white head. Intense nose of cereals and malty sweetness, faint tart. Sweet taste with roasted flavors. Some coffee, gaint chocolate and a little boozy. --- Beer merged from original tick of Ferrum on 19 Dec 2021 at 14:45 - Score: 7. Prost!

Bottle picked up from Anderl Getränke Fachmarkt - Höhenkirchen and consumed at home Sunday 6th June 2021 listening to Shame - Drunk Tank Pink, making Pasta to make Salmon, Dill and Cream Cheese Ravioli. Pours conker brown, good clarity with a white head. Caramel and nuts feature along with a little dark fruit. Bitterness is low, doesn't really drink like a 7% beer, but it's a pleasant enough drop.

250ml bottle. Dark brown reddish, foamy head. Aroma is iron, raisins, caramel, dark chocolate, roasted nuts. Irony bitterness, malty sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft to low carbonated, mild dry metallic sweet finish. Decent, interesting metallic touch, feels quite rural.

Slight gushing, not that usual for a lager. Pours almost black with a small off-white head that shows good retention and lacing. Strong but not too refined aroma: sweet caramel malts (borderlining burnt caramel), strong coffee, chocolate. Compared to aroma, taste is a bit washed down. Again: roasted malts, coffee, caramel and light chocolate. Medium to high sweetness and low to medium bitterness, overall on the sweet side in both taste and aftertaste, but not overwhelmingly so. Slight warming feeling. Medium body, very low carbonation (probably wasn't meant), feels to thin for style and does not support the taste. An atypical doppelbock. Possibly interesting, but this had significant flows.

Bottle, many thanks pivnizub! Clear brown color with white head. Aroma is a bit oxidized, raisins. Taste is oxidized, yeasty, dough. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Meh.
