Aged for 18 months in Isle of Arran Bere whisky barrels and made with Orkney-grown barley, you'd be hard pressed to find a porter as Scottish as this one! That long ageing period has given it a brooding, deep brown pour that carries dark scents of chocolate-laced leather. That slightly sweet cocoa carries over onto the tongue too, where its offset with red fruit and a subdued whisky kiss.

A black beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and roasted malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige head, unstable, falls down quickly to a steady small layer of foam, adhesive, leaving some patches of lace in the glass. Aroma: sweet, vanilla, roasted, dusty, alcohol, oxidized, some raisins, dried fruits, cinnamon. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sourish, sweet, milk chocolate, oxidized touch, spicy. Aftertaste: lot of alcohol, bit bready, more chocolate, little bitter, cinnamon, bit oxidized.

330 ml bottle shared by Cuso, thanks!
Dark brown body, with a medium, creamy, coffee colored head.
Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, some peat, cocoa, coconut, caramel, some liquorice, dark fruits.
Tastes of cocoa, coffee, dark chocolate, coconut, some liquorice, some dark fruits, some alcohol.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes a bit alcohol warming, quite dry, roasty, also sweet, with cocoa, coffee, some liquorice.
Tasty. Quite straight, but really greatly balanced, with the right amount of roastiness, sweetness and dryness. Drinks really smooth for the ABV. An Imperial Porter how I like it.

Bottle. Aroma lots of peat, somewhat unbalanced, strong. Also strong roastiness but less strong than the peat. Clear dark brown colour, oily texture. Not much sweetness in taste, bitter throughout. Lots of roasted notes, woody and also lots of peat. Light coconut. I think it lacks a bit of sweetness and caramel to balance the bold barrel character. Tasty and enjoyable but not the masterpiece.
