Hazy reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and very spicy cinnamon. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. Watery. Dominated by the cinnamon. 101205

Bottled (from Estate Wine "upstairs cellar", BBE 07/2006). Rubyish brown colour with a small beigeish brown head. ARoma is quite spicy and yeasty along with some sweet and mildly roasted malts. Flavour is very similar along with some toffee and mild herbal notes. Not that much hoppyness left, but has developed into a quite nice thing over the years.

Bottled (BB 07/2006)
Dark ruby color, tan head. Spicey nose: ginger, cinnamon and clove. Malty with same spices than in the aroma. Some grassy and chocolaty hoppy notes in the finish. A bit too simple and thin but drinkable as such, could have higher ABV to be more Christmasy.

On tap at Fynske Øldage, Odense, Denmark. Brown with tan head. Weak, malty aroma. Roasted malt in flavor, and mild bitterness to finish it off. Boring. (051029)

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful warm, reddish brown colour with a slight haze and an off-white head. Completely neutral aroma. Weak notes of caramel and roasted malt. Dry, light hoppy finish. Quite boring and one-dimensional. 291005

Sample on tap at the brewpub, on the day of its release for the Christmas season 2005. I think the waiter might again have screwed up the samples here ... Golden colour, much paler than the description. Hints of vomit in the aroma, not very pleasant. Tastes like a reasonably hoppy pale bock / premium lager, nothing Christmasy about it.

A hazy red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is extremely spicy with a very powerful note of cinnamon, but also notes of ginger. The flavor is sweet and very spicy again cinnamon and ginger, this time the ginger is the most dominant, but it also has some notes of caramel, and a slight touch of roasted malt, leading to a slightly sticky end where the ginger gets a little sharp and mixed with a bit of an eathy or woody note. The alcohol lingers in the background, giving the warmth. I bit too spicy for my liking.

Bottle. (As Julebuk). Sweet cinnamon aroma. Almost clear, dark chestnut colour. Watery mouthfeel. Low carbonation. To me this is just thin cinnamon water.

sampled from from growler - might have lost some pressure. Extremely spicy nose: Anise, cardemom, a bit smoke. Cloudy brown, low creamy brown head. Sour and bitter flavors on a too thin body. I get some bog myrtle in there, or maybe its infected - hard to tell. Interresting experiment - better luck next year though.
