Sample from tap, CBF 2012. Pitch black with a small, tanned head. Sweet and roasted aroma with lots of dark dried fruits and syrup. Sweet and roasted taste. Full body with a thick texture. Finished long lasting very sweet with an alcohol note. No sign of cedar. Otherwise a vulgar beer... (which is good)

Tap at CBF 2012. Very black, opaque pearling dark golden foam. Roasted and citric hoppy nose. Fairly acidic and bitter, epidemi notes. Sticky mouthfeel. Not really harmonic.

On tap. Pours a pitch black with a small brown head. Thick, sweet roasty aroma with loads of raisin syrup. Thick, fat, greasy body. Sweet roast, sweet prunes, overripe dark dried fruits, somewhat dusty. Very, very sweet with a warming alcohol finish. Tasted side by side with the original version I find it very hard to pick up any real cedar character (as opposed to the heavy cedar character in for instance Cigar City beers). 110512
