Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver
Black color with beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and some chemicals, weird. The mouthfeel is rather thin, dry too; some roasted malt flavor, a bit of spicy buckwheat, and ordinary bitterness; ends with some paper and cardboard.
Maybe the bottle is oldish, but a beer should stand up better then this if spending a few months in a shop’s cooler. Not a bad beer, but I’m not impressed.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with moderate head of big bubbles. Aromas of piney resin and light cocoa. Flavors of acidic coffee and bitter dry dark chocolate. Overly bitter and lacking a good base.

Medium brown, aroma is a little toasty with a little citrusy hop. A little light and watery on the palate, but with some bitterness showing through in the finish. This wateriness undermines the bitterness.

650mL bottle, pours black with a medium foamy head. Nose is quite wheaty, with light roasted malt and piney hops. Flavour brings out notes of dirty wheat, light roast, and some resinous hops. The whole thing feels rather muted, but it is nice and smooth in the mouth, with considerable body. Decent, but lacking some oomph.
