Village Blonde Ale has been brewed in conformance to the beer style characteristics and have a rich golden blonde colour. The beer has a crisp, dry palate, with a hint of, but not overpowering sweetness from the 2 Row malt. There is a definite hop aroma and a positive bitterness to balance the malt flavours. As with all good ales, there will be a hint of fruity esters to round out the finish. The higher end gravity will result in a beer with medium body, good mouth feel and the perception of a full strength beer, while remaining easy to drink to the most discriminating palates.

On tap. Pours a clear pale yellow with a thin, short lived, white head that leaves spotty lacing. Skunky aroma of pale malt, grain and grass. Sweet flavour of grainy malt with bitter grass in the finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. One and done, disappointing.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, pale golden colour with a blonde and short foamy layer. Slightly skunky draffy pale malt-character with shades of burnt rubber, accompanied by doughy spots and slightly grassy, herbal hops. Moderately bitter and delicately sweet flavour, slim bodied with a tame carbonation. Slim malt-character with a tinge of butter and a rough grassy hoppy touch, which is getting slightly metallic towards the slim and slightly malty finish. Not good. 22.XII.14

Pours a light golden colour with a white cap and decent lacing. Honey smelling cereal grain scent with spicy hops. Same for taste, but not as sweet as less honey notes. The finish is short. Reminds me of Steam Whistle ingredients, but a little more watery. Still good.

Boiteille(Merci, Jonas!): Golden, clear, stable white head; aromas of burnt pale malt and rubber, hops and barley barely detectable; mild dryish bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied to watery; short bland bitter finish.No.………

Bottle. Sulphur and cabbage nose. Urine yellow, low white head. Medium light body, ok malt base, chewiness, mellow mouthfeel. Light grass and DMS finish. Weird do they have a pact with the devil to collect all brewing flaws in their most accessible beer?

Butterbomb drain pour. Looked really nice, but that’s it. Who on earth wants to drink a pint of diacetyl?
