Gingerbread spiced Barley Wine aged in Bourbon Barrels at our new brewery in Svinninge. A long time boiled Barley Wine brewed w/ Ginger, Cinnamon, Cardamom & Nutmeg. If you cannot pronouce “Honningkage” by the end of this year, you’ve not had enough.

Dark brown colour with small white head.Aroma of dark drid fruit and honey nice smooth bourbon and ginger note and good full body smooth and warming finish.

Bottle at a tasting. Very rich, complex, rewarding sipper. Full body, moderate carbonation. Loads of malty goodness, toffee, caramel, chocolate. Honey too, light ginger. The spices are present, all of them in subtle intensity, just barely showing, not sure if I could pick them by myself. Very tasty overall, excellent.

Bottle picked up from ToOl Webshop, Denmark and consumed at Makis Camping, Kamares, Sifnos, Greece after an 18.8km walk coast to coast in Sifnos, from Makis Camping, Kamares to Kastro and back. Pours chestnut brown with a light tan head. Bourbon on the nose, warming and thick in the mouth, dark brown sugar, bourbon, softness, dark sweet dried fruit. This is really good and a considerable step up from the cognac aged version.

Pours hazy brown with a beige head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, vanilla, alcohol, brown sugar and oak. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long warm, caramel, vanilla, honey, brown sugar and oak finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, 250 ml, shared with Max, Miro B and kajser27. Dark brown, small beige head. Caramel, chocolate, spicy, honey, thick, some light cinnamon, quite sweet. Warming. Medium to full bodied. Nicely blended flavours.
